Spot brand. It was raced by Lasaw's brother sa TLBF SS category - 3rd place, I think. Smile

Doc Ches also has one, but it's not belt driven.

Somebody spank me! What a Face Kidding aside, let's wait, baka may mag-reply. Smile

you know... hehehe pacman... one of the reasons why hindi efficient ang belt sa bisikleta??

SLIPPPAGE.... unless otherwise napakabilis mong paikutin ang crank mo...

kung mag-freewheel ka, pagpadyak mo, medyo may dulas, meron kasing slack side unlike chain and sprocket system, kahit may slack, merong roller and pitch links na kakasa sa ngipin....

correct me if i'm incorrect....

heto trek o...

I haven't tried one so I really can't comment. Malakas na padyak yun at medyo may kahirapan ang course nung TLBF this year.

hmm... weird, kasi ang sabi naman sa akin ng isang balak mag belt driven, ang advantage daw is the lack of slack side kaya niya gusto. lagi daw taut ang belt, same tension sa taas at baba... but i have yet to try one to know alin nga ang totoo...

boss, this could help: Chain vs Belt

nice article albert.

Medyo off topic

=====

http://www.gates.com/brochure.cfm?brochure=5262&location_id=6196

(gates is used in both trek and spot belt-driven bikes)

Wink

mukang may limitation ang belt sa application sa multi-gear...internal gear siguro pede...pag napatiran ka pa, which i think not impossible to happen...malaking problema.

may nakasubok na ba nyan sa putikan?

talked to a friend this morning who has tried a spot belt drive (he said the bike was just lent to him). kasama ko siya sa la mesa that time. he used it all the way to tower 1, wala naman daw hassle or anything. maganda naman daw yung response nung drive train. pero hindi maputik that time. pero tingin ko ang belt drive problema ito pag sa putik/sa maraming maliliit na bato. and yes, internal gearing lang ang nakita ko na naka belt drive saka single speed.

I think chain can handle shock and heavy loads...

aside from lightweight, medyo madali i-maintain yung belt... yun lang kaso kapag naputikan, e hindi natin alam....

isa pa, walang lubrication..

@ Ako.. mukha nga, marketing strategy...

sabi nila "Another maintenance factor with cost implications is drive component replacement. One of the major weaknesses of a roller chain drive is chain wear resulting in stretching or elongation. Manufacturers recommend roller chain replacement when elongation of approximately 3% has occurred. "

correct! e yung belt ba? ahihihihi to think belts are made of materials that are elastic... heheh.. di ko din alam....

Shocked
