gary, on a dinglespeed using the paul's components melvin, which chain ring should i adjust the chain for? the smaller ring or the larger (for example of a 44/32 or a 32/22 x 16) ?

Yo King,
Adjust the Melvin so it's centered on the 16T cog. If you need to adjust it for a specific chainring, adjust it to the chainring you use the most (in this case, it will probably be the 32). Are you planning on running a front shifter or are you going with manual shifting. If you can, try to go with a FD to help keep the chain on the rings in rough terrain.

Re: dinglespeed (attn gary!)
hey gary. dan & i figured it out. i'm running 32/22x16. paul's tech info says to run the melvin so that it's more or less vertical on the smaller ring. i'll take some pics later. i'm using an FD (foot derailleur hehe) to shift. going down to the small ring is easy, but back to 32 is a little trickier. i reach down and pull the chain up with my finger.
